What to expect on the day of Body Lift surgery
On the day of your Body Lift, we aim to make you feel comfortable and confident; you’ve chosen to change your life for the better, and we could not be more excited for you. During the Body Lift procedure with Dr. Pace, you will be given general anesthesia to ensure your comfort. Once you are sedated, Dr. Pace will make carefully placed incisions around your body, targeting areas such as the abdomen, hips, buttocks, and thighs. Through these incisions, excess skin and fat will be removed, resulting in a tighter and more contoured midsection. The incisions are strategically placed to be hidden within natural creases or clothing lines, minimizing their visibility and scarring.
Dr. Pace may also recommend combining Liposuction with the procedure. Liposuction involves the removal of stubborn fat deposits from specific problem areas, further refining your body contour and achieving optimal results.
When finished, you will be closely monitored in a recovery area and provided with detailed post-operative instructions for a smooth recovery. It is recommended to bring a family or friend to drive you home as you might have some lingering effects from the sedation.
Body Lift Recovery
After your Body Lift surgery is complete, it is normal to experience some swelling, bruising, and discomfort in the treated areas. Dr. Pace and our team will provide you with specific instructions to follow, including how to care for your incisions, manage pain, and promote healing. It is important to take it easy and avoid any strenuous activities or heavy lifting in the weeks following your surgery. You will need to wear compression garments to support all areas affected and minimize swelling.
Every patient’s recovery timeline is different, but most of our patients expect to return to work and normal daily activities within a few weeks. However, it is important to note that complete healing and the final results of your Body Lift may take several months. Dr. Pace will schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and remove any sutures.
