What to expect on the day of Thigh Lift surgery
On the day of your Thigh Lift surgery at Greensboro Plastic Surgery, Dr. Collier Pace will place you under general anesthesia to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure and may employ various surgical techniques to achieve the best possible results.
During the surgery, Dr. Pace focuses on eliminating excess fat and sagging skin from the thigh area. The choice of technique and incision placement will be determined by the particular areas of your thighs that require reshaping and would have generally been discussed during your consultation.
The procedure involves the removal of excess skin, followed by lifting and suturing of the remaining skin and tissue. A light dressing will be applied to your thighs, and you may also be fitted with a soft compression garment to minimize swelling. In some cases, liposuction may be combined with the thigh lift to remove excess fat.
While the duration of the procedure may vary for each patient, on average, thigh lifts typically take approximately two to three hours to complete.
Thigh Lift Recovery
When finished, you will be closely monitored in a recovery area and provided with detailed post-operative instructions for a smooth recovery. It is recommended to bring a family or friend to drive you home as you might have some lingering effects from the sedation.
During the recovery period following your Thigh Lift surgery, it is common to experience some swelling, bruising, and discomfort.
Dr. Collier Pace will provide specific post-operative instructions to promote healing and minimize complications. It is important to rest and avoid strenuous activities for several weeks. Wearing a compression garment can help reduce swelling. With proper care and adherence to instructions, you can expect a smoother recovery and enjoy the benefits of a more contoured thigh appearance.
